An Opportunity to Get Closer to God

By: Kaelyn Gribble

Every day is a new opportunity to experience a life filled with peace, joy, and purpose as we draw closer to God.
Every day is a new opportunity to experience a life filled with peace, joy, and purpose as we draw closer to God.

Every day presents a new opportunity to draw closer to God. No matter what is happening in your life, you have the power to decide to rejoice in the day that the Lord has made. Each moment is a chance for healing, deliverance, and transformation—a fresh invitation for God to renew your mind and spirit.

Are You Open to What God Is Doing?

Half of the battle is simply being receptive. God is always working in your life, but are you paying attention? Are your spiritual eyes and ears open? Many times, our attitudes can limit our capacity to receive from God. He wants to bless you, but He also wants your participation. He desires an open heart, a willing spirit, and a mindset that trusts in His plans.

God works best in an atmosphere of faith and gratitude. When you learn to rejoice in every moment, you will begin to see His hand moving in ways you never noticed before. Life may present challenges, but God can turn every situation around for good—if you choose to trust Him and keep a positive perspective.

Religion vs. Relationship

It’s possible to be religious and still miss the heart of God. Some of the most critical and unkind people can be those who practice religion without a true relationship with Christ. They have the rituals down but lack the love, grace, and transformation that comes from knowing Him personally.

Eternal life doesn’t begin when you die; it begins the moment you truly know God. That’s when you start living your best life. When you develop a real relationship with God, your values shift from worldly desires to things that truly matter. God becomes your source of strength, and you realize that everything else is secondary.

Seek After Real Life

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” When you seek after God, you’re not just chasing temporary blessings—you’re stepping into real, abundant life. A life filled with peace, joy, and purpose.

Instead of worrying, pray about everything.

Instead of seeking validation from the world, seek the presence of God.

Put joy in your heart.

Because if you have Jesus, you have everything you need.

Sometimes we wonder where God is, but the truth is, He’s been waiting for us to open our hearts to Him. Make today the day you lean in, listen, and receive all He has for you!

Prayer:

“Lord, open my eyes so I can see You. Open my ears so I can hear You. I’ve been listening to the wrong voices, focusing on the wrong things. Draw me closer to You, and help me to seek after real, abundant life in Your presence. Amen.”

Great post! So thankful for the love and patience God continues to show us daily. He is so faithful and always moving, speaking, and acting on our behalf! This just reminded me to take a seat and look for more intentional ways I can hear His voice and spend more time with Him!
