love stories.

When I think about the love of God, a few stories come to mind. But before we look at them, let's reflect...Can you pinpoint your 1st encounter with the love of God?

For me, I remember when I was around 4 or 5 years old, my mom and I were leaving her friend's house, and after she put me in the car, she was robbed at gunpoint. I remember feeling so scared, and although I was too young to understand what was happening, I knew we were in danger. My mom gave him all that she had, and he ran off. This situation could have gone multiple different ways…But GOD. I'm holding back tears writing this because I know deep in my heart that the love of God saved us that night.

Many Bible stories depict God's unfailing love that we can reflect on and identify with:

💫 In Luke 15, the love of God is explained as a son coming back home after leaving abruptly to do his own thing and knocking on the door expecting to be told to go away, only to be greeted with a sweet, warm welcome and welcome back party (Luke 15:11-32).

💫In Genesis 37, after being betrayed by his brothers, imprisoned, and sold into slavery, Joseph experienced the faithful love of God and was positioned to be a blessing to all those around him, including his brothers (Genesis 37-50).

💫 In Luke 10, the love of God is seen as a man beaten and left for dead on the side of the road being picked up by a stranger who wrapped his wounds, took him to an inn, and paid for his stay (Luke 10: 29-38).

💫 In Matthew 18, the love of God is described in the story of the lost sheep. After realizing a sheep was lost and alone in the wilderness, the shepherd left the flock to find the missing sheep and bring him back to safety (Matthew 18:10-14).

The love of God is life-changing.

It is all-knowing, unconditional, protective, and powerful.

I pray that in ALL things, you remember the love of God and know that it is always more than enough! May His love fill your hearts and minds so much that it overflows to those around you.

What's your Jesus love story? Can't think of one? I have one for you: "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved" (Ephesians 2:4-5).
