As believers, it’s important that we continually fill ourselves with the goodness of God. Being full of something means there is no room for anything else…think about pouring a glass of water or filling a basket with items. At some point, the container will reach its capacity and overflow. This same concept is true as we fill ourselves with the goodness of God. As we study His word, allow His truth to transform our hearts, and walk in gratitude we will surely begin to overflow.

On Thanksgiving, many of us experienced fullness at one point or another - maybe we had one too many plates of our favorite meal and had to sit upright on the couch because we were uncomfortably stuffed...or perhaps we spent time with some of our loved ones we haven’t seen in a long time and our hearts were overjoyed…or maybe we reflected on how good God has been all year and couldn’t help but rehearse his Goodness.

As this year comes to an end, I would challenge you to continue to fill yourself with the goodness of God! Don’t allow negativity or fear to stop you from walking in gratitude. As we fill our hearts with God, His love, and His promises, we will see that He is bigger than our problems and fears. As we fill ourselves with Him, we will be full and have no more room for anything else. And not only that, His spirit will overflow and bless those around us!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Romans 15:13

Yes! Intentionality is key…because before we know it, we can be busy doing so many other things and forgetting the true reason for the season.

I love this! And as we are filled to the point of overflowing we can then share that with others! I’m definitely being intentional to let let the business of the holiday season pull me away from my time with God!
